Parent Procedure
Before you begin
• Demographic and spouse information are accurate.
• It is one month prior to your intended retirement date.
• It is no more than four months prior to your intended retirement date.
Steps
1) Click the Applications menu item on the left navigation panel.
The system displays the Applications screen.
2) Click the Service Retirement icon/link.
The system displays the View Retirement Application screen.
3) Launch the Retirement Application Wizard:
a. To begin a new application, click New in the Service Retirement Application panel.
b. To continue an existing application, click the Application ID link.
The system displays the Retirement Application Wizard – Step 1.
4) Enter required Application Data.
5) Click Save & Next.
The system displays the Retirement Application Wizard – Step 2.
6) Enter required Retirement Beneficiary Details.
7) Click Add Beneficiary.
The system adds the beneficiary record.
8) Repeat Step 7, as needed.
9) To delete a beneficiary, select the checkbox corresponding to the record and click Delete.
10) Click Save & Next.
The system displays the Retirement Application Wizard – Step 3.
11) Enter required Life Insurance Beneficiary Details.
12) Click Add Beneficiary.
The system adds the beneficiary record.
13) Repeat Step 7, as needed.
14) To delete a beneficiary, select the checkbox corresponding to the record and click Delete.
15) Click Save & Next.
The system displays the Retirement Application Wizard – Step 4.
16) Enter required Federal Tax Data.
17) Click Save & Next.
The system displays the Retirement Application Wizard – Step 5.
18) Enter required Direct Deposit Data.
19) Click Save & Next.
The system displays the Retirement Application Wizard – Step 6.
20) Upload
required documents or select the checkbox corresponding to the statement,
‘I will mail the required document(s) to TRS.’
To upload the required
documents:
a. Select an item from the File Description drop down menu.
b. Click the Browse button corresponding to the File Path field.
c. Select the file from your computer system.
d. Click Add.
e. Repeat Step 20 to upload each required document to the application.
21) Click Save & Next.
The system displays the Review Summary Screen.
22) Review the application.
23) If needed, click Previous to return to a Step.
24) Complete the required fields in the Health Insurance panel. You must complete an insurance application before submitting a Retirement Application.
25) Select the Agreement checkbox in the Authorization panel.
26) Click Submit. (Correct error(s) and click Submit, as needed).
What happens next
The system successfully submits the Retirement Application to TRS.
